Terms of Service

1. Acceptance
By installing or using Inventory AI ("the App") on your Shopify store, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App. These Terms form a binding agreement between you (the merchant) and InsightsAI.
2. What the App Does
Inventory AI connects to your Shopify store via Shopify's official OAuth API and provides the following features:
- Demand forecasting — AI-generated 30-day sales forecasts per SKU using a time-series model trained on your order history
- Reorder alerts — automated email notifications when a SKU's stock level drops below a predicted reorder point
- Return risk scoring — per-SKU return rate prediction and risk tiering (low / medium / high / critical) using a machine learning model
- Churn prediction — identification of customers at risk of not purchasing again, based on purchase recency and frequency
- Dead stock detection — flags SKUs with high inventory and low recent sales velocity
- Sales velocity tracking — units-per-day trends and 30/90-day sales comparisons per SKU
- Back-in-stock notifications — allows your customers to sign up for email alerts when an out-of-stock product is restocked; emails are sent on your behalf when inventory is replenished
- Purchase order management — create, track, and manage purchase orders to suppliers within the App
- Supplier management — store supplier contact details and link them to your product variants
3. Shopify Integration & Data Access
Installation is handled via Shopify's OAuth flow. The App requests the following Shopify API scopes:
read_products— to sync product and variant dataread_orders— to sync order history, line items, and refundsread_inventory— to read current stock levels per locationread_customers— to support churn prediction (email addresses are hashed immediately; raw emails are never stored)
We do not request write access to your Shopify store. No orders, products, or customer records are modified by the App.
4. Back-in-Stock Notifications
When a shopper signs up for a back-in-stock alert on your store, their email address is collected and stored solely to send that one notification. By enabling this feature you confirm that your store's privacy policy discloses this data collection to your customers. We send the notification email on your behalf and delete the signup record after the notification is sent or after 90 days, whichever comes first.
5. AI Recommendations — No Guarantee of Accuracy
Forecasts, reorder suggestions, return risk scores, and churn predictions are estimates generated by machine learning models. They are provided for informational purposes only and may be inaccurate. Do not use them as the sole basis for purchasing, stocking, or business decisions. InsightsAI is not liable for financial losses arising from acting on App recommendations.
6. Merchant Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate store information during setup
- Keep your Shopify access token confidential and notify us immediately if it is compromised
- Ensure your own store privacy policy discloses use of third-party analytics apps (including this one) to your customers, as required by applicable law
- Not use the App in any way that violates Shopify's Partner Program Agreement or applicable laws
7. Data Ownership
Your store data remains yours. We claim no ownership over your products, orders, or customer data. We use it only to provide the App's features as described in Section 2 and our Privacy Policy.
8. Data Retention & Deletion
Store data is retained while the App is installed. When you uninstall:
- Shopify sends us a
shop/redactwebhook - All your store data — orders, products, forecasts, return scores, purchase orders, and supplier records — is permanently deleted within 48 hours
To request immediate deletion, email support@insights.sale.
9. Service Availability
We target high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled syncs run hourly via automated jobs. Forecast generation and model retraining occur on a weekly cycle. We are not liable for delays caused by Shopify API outages, Cloudflare infrastructure issues, or scheduled maintenance.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, InsightsAI's total liability for any claim arising from use of the App is limited to the fees paid by you in the 3 months preceding the claim. The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via the email address associated with your Shopify store or via a notice in the App dashboard, at least 7 days before changes take effect. Continued use of the App after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes will first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, either party may pursue available legal remedies.
